Hand Of Dimes
Hand Of Dimes is the reunion of former SKIN singer and front man Nev MacDonald and keyboard player Neil Garland.
Their friendship and songwriting partnership goes back thirty years to when they were both part of the Welsh Rock Band KOOGA.
After a critically acclaimed album titled Across The Water in 1986 and a successful appearance at Reading Rock Festival the band went their separate ways.

After leaving Kooga Nev joined Skin in 1993 along with ex-Jagged Edge members Myke Gray and Andy Robbins with Dicki Fliszar from Bruce Dickinson’s touring band on drums.
Skin released six albums between 1994 and 1996 for Parlophone Records. A guest slot at Gibson’s Night of 100 Guitars saw them in the company of Paul Rodgers, Brian May and Slash and in 1995 they opened up for Bon Jovi and Van Halen at Gateshead Statium

Under Iron Maiden's management Sanctuary the band came to the attention of noted American producer Keith Olsen who offered to produce their debut album at his ‘Goodnight LA’ Studio. During 1993 the band flew to LA and began recording.
Prior to the release of the album, the band decided upon the name Skin and embarked upon a 14 date UK tour supporting Little Angels.
Another support tour, this time with Thunder helped swell their growing fan base and, in 1993, they released their debut single The Skin Up EP.
This was followed by House of Love before their first UK chart single “Money”, which peaked at No. 18. The debut album, entitled Skin sold even better, breaking into the top 10 and peaking at No 9.
Another single from the album, Tower of Strength which was backed with live material from their Donington Monsters of Rock appearance, also broke into the top 20 and reached no 19.
After a ten year break Skin reunited in 2009 to release a new album followed up with tours with Thunder and a Main Stage appearance at the Download Festival along with Def Leppard, Whitesnake and ZZ Top.
The following year they released the album “Breaking The Silence” along with a live DVD “Alive And Kicking” and an appearance at the High Voltage Festival.
Breaking the silence
The new band Hand Of Dimes is soulful melodic rock which packs a serious punch. With the powerful and emotional vocal drive which has become Nev MacDonald’s unmistakable trademark they blend electric and acoustic material with a wide range of influences from Free to Zeppelin. Strong melodic songs with lyrical weight are underpinned with a more blues influenced style than either Skin or Kooga. After a well received EP they are currently working on a new album due for release in 2015

Pinstriped Arrogance is No.12 on the
Classic Rock playlist.
Hook laden hard rock from the brand new
five piece band featuring Nev MacDonald
and former Kooga band mate on Keys.

Hand Of Dimes have just released an
Impressive debut  EP.
The obvious comparisons would have
to be Red White & Blues or even Skin
but just listen to the epic Jacob’s Ladder
the hard rocking Looking At You or the
soft rocking vibe of Angels And Demons
for further proof of this bands worth.
